Overview

NetDiag+ is a network diagnostics toolkit that performs Ping, Traceroute, MTR, Path MTU discovery, DNS lookups, Whois, Wi-Fi analysis, LAN scanning, bufferbloat and latency measurement, and other network tests. It is published by Dmytro Tishchenko s.p. (Koper, Slovenia). Your privacy is important to us.

This policy covers both the iOS/iPadOS app (distributed on the Apple App Store) and the Android app (distributed on Google Play). Where the two differ, the difference is stated explicitly. It also covers this website, netdiag.online — see This Website.

Data Collection

We do not collect your name, email address, or the contents of your diagnostic queries. All network diagnostics are performed locally on your device. Query results (ping responses, traceroute hops, DNS records, whois data, Wi-Fi details, latency and bufferbloat measurements) are displayed on-screen and stored only on your device — they are never sent to our servers. We do not operate any servers.

The app does collect limited, pseudonymous usage data through the third-party services described below, subject to your consent where required.

Network Access

The app requires network access to perform its core diagnostic functions (sending ICMP packets, DNS queries, TCP/TLS connections, and local network scanning). This network activity is initiated only by your explicit action and serves no other purpose.

Location Permission

The Wi-Fi tools may ask for location permission. This is an operating-system requirement: both iOS and Android will not reveal the name of the network you are connected to (SSID/BSSID) unless the app holds location access. Your location is displayed on your device and is never transmitted, stored by us, or used for any other purpose. Declining the permission leaves every other tool fully functional.

Advertising

On iOS/iPadOS, NetDiag+ displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use data to serve ads, including:

Where consent is required (EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and certain US states), the iOS app shows a consent form on first launch. You can review or withdraw your consent at any time via Settings → “Manage Ad Privacy” in the app. You can also opt out of personalized advertising by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt or under iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking. Purchasing the premium upgrade removes advertising entirely.

On Android, the app contains no advertising SDK and serves no ad banners or interstitials. It does show occasional contextual buttons suggesting a third-party VPN service (tunlo), for example after a tool detects that a host is blocked or that you are behind a restrictive NAT. These buttons are promotional links to a partner and open your browser; we may earn a commission from them. No data about you is sent to that partner by the app — a click passes only a campaign tag identifying NetDiag+ as the referrer. You are never required to use them.

Analytics

NetDiag+ uses Google Analytics for Firebase (provided by Google LLC) to understand how the app is used and to improve it. It collects aggregated, pseudonymous usage data such as app launches, screen views, session length, in-app events (which tool was opened, whether a promotional button was shown, and anonymized purchase events), approximate location (country/region derived from your IP address), device model, OS version, and an app-instance identifier. It does not collect your name, email address, or the contents of your diagnostic queries.

On iOS/iPadOS, analytics is enabled on the same basis as advertising: where consent is required, it runs only if you consent through the in-app prompt, and not at all if you decline. You can change your choice at any time via Settings → “Manage Ad Privacy”.

On Android, Google Analytics for Firebase is active from first launch and the app does not currently present a consent dialog. Android's own controls apply: you can reset or delete the advertising identifier under Settings → Privacy → Ads, and uninstalling the app stops all collection. If you want your analytics data removed, write to us at the address below and we will delete it.

Google processes this data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy documentation.

This Website (netdiag.online)

This site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no login, no comment form and no newsletter, so there is nothing here for you to sign up to and nothing for us to store about you.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are read and where readers come from. It is a privacy-first, cookie-free measurement tool: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser or device, does not follow you to other sites, and does not build a profile of you. It records an aggregated page view with the page address, the referring site, your country (derived from your IP address, which is not stored), and coarse browser and device-type information. We cannot identify you from it, and we cannot single out your visit.

The site is served through Cloudflare, which also processes requests to keep the site available and to block abuse. Cloudflare acts as our processor; see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and their Web Analytics documentation.

The site carries no advertising, no advertising trackers and no social-network widgets. Links to the App Store and Google Play carry a campaign tag so we can tell which page sent a visitor to the store; the tag identifies the page, not you.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS only)

On first launch, the iOS app will request your permission to track activity across other companies' apps and websites. This is used solely for ad personalization by Google AdMob. You may decline without any impact on the app's diagnostic functionality. Android has no equivalent prompt because the Android app carries no advertising SDK.

Purchases

The premium upgrade is a one-time in-app purchase, processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) depending on your platform. We never see or store your payment details. The app records only whether the purchase is active, on your device. Restoring a purchase queries the store, not us.

NetDiag+ stores the following data locally on your device only:

No data is transmitted to our servers. We do not operate any servers. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Children's Privacy

NetDiag+ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Your Rights

If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the pseudonymous data described above, and you may object to its processing. Because we hold no account and no identifying information, please include your app-instance identifier where possible, or simply tell us your platform and approximate dates. Write to the address below; we respond within 30 days.
